Location: Jepson Room 122
Date: Sat, April 21
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

This discussion draws connections between emotional intelligence and social change by increasing our conscious empathy and capacity for reflexive thought. Major inspirations for the presentation include the Psychology of Leadership course, recurring concepts throughout the Organizational Leadership Master's program, & need for alternative & participatory leadership approaches. The presentation highlights a research paper & workshop on micro-level social change rooted in emotional intelligence, power, & privilege. The discussion is also a hopeful invitation for thoughtful reflection & feedback on our individual capacity for social change & contributions to inclusive, creative, & actively peaceful environments. Empathy, personal narrative, positionality, & connectedness are major themes.
