From Headspace to Ignatius: Crafting a Mindfulness Curriculum

Location: Jepson Room 122
Date: Fri, April 20
Time: 4:40 PM - 5:40 PM

This paper presentation will showcase a collection of research showing the positive impact of mindfulness practices and demonstrating the level of anxiety in young adults as such that they can benefit from the practice of mindfulness. Building on that collection of research, the presenter will outline a curriculum that grounds students in both the history and philosophy of Eastern and Western mindfulness/meditation practices, introduces the neuroscience behind mindfulness, provides the tools and opportunities to practice mindfulness, and opportunities to assess personal growth.
