The Constructive Development Framework explores what structures are created in the cognitive process to process the information that an individual receives. These structures, or Orders, in turn guide the myriad relationships and decisions an individual makes. Studies have demonstrated a positive relationship between Emotional Intelligence attributes and job performance in both laboratory and field settings. In the same vein, preliminary research into the Constructive Development Framework indicates that those operating within higher Orders tend to make better leaders. To date, however, there is no real research examining what, if any, relationship exists between an individuals Emotional Intelligence and their Constructive Development Order. The purpose of this presentation is to propose the implementation of a research design to explore this gap in available information.
